SHEAGP

SHEAGP – Sustainable Horizons: Empowering Adult Education and Civil Society through Green Practices is an Erasmus+ KA210-ADU Small-Scale Partnership that supports the green and digital transformation of civil society organisations and adult education actors. Running for 18 months (September 2024 – February 2026), the project brings together partners from France, Italy, and Greece to strengthen sustainability awareness and build practical skills for greener workplaces in NGOs and community-based organisations

Project Objectives

SHEAGP project aims to strengthen sustainability and green transformation within civil society by empowering adults working in NGOs and community-based organisations to adopt more environmentally responsible practices in their daily work. The project focuses on raising awareness about sustainable workplace behaviours in the digital era, building the skills of adult learners and educators to become active agents of change, and reinforcing the organisational capacity of partner institutions through cooperation, training, and practical tools. Through a combination of diagnostics, guidance materials, training programmes, real-life piloting, and dissemination actions, the project contributes to greener workplaces, improved competencies, and stronger cross-border collaboration in adult education.

From the ToT

Train-the-Trainers (ToT) activity is a core capacity-building component of the SHEAGP project, designed to equip adult educators and civil society staff with the knowledge, tools, and methodologies needed to deliver sustainability learning in their own communities. Hosted in Greece and facilitated by MONOPATI, the ToT will prepare staff from all three partner organisations to implement the SHEAGP training programme at national level, ensuring that sustainable workplace practices—such as circular economy approaches, energy efficiency, responsible mobility and food habits, and greener digital/remote work—are effectively transferred into real NGO and CSO environments. By strengthening facilitation skills and improving the quality and consistency of training delivery across countries, the ToT supports a wider and longer-lasting impact beyond the project’s lifetime.

Disseminating Green Practices for Societal Empowerment

As part of A7 – Horizon Outreach, ITRF implemented two targeted dissemination events in Italy to increase the visibility of the SHEAGP project and strengthen local stakeholder engagement. These outreach activities brought together adult education providers, local NGOs, community-based organisations, trainers, volunteers, and newcomer organisations interested in sustainability and Erasmus+ opportunities. With the support of Lorma International and SOS Europa, ITRF introduced the project’s objectives and expected impact, showcased the practical value of the SHEAGP Guide, and shared key learning outcomes from the Training of Trainers (ToT) held in Lefkada, Greece. The events also created space for peer learning and dialogue, helping participants better understand how Small-Scale Partnerships can generate real community impact and support greener workplace practices in civil society.
